KLOCKER RESIDENCE

The Klocker Residence is a town and boathouse located in an enclave of permanent boathouses in near west suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. The 2800 square foot house is built on existing pilings and the site, which is 25' wide by 106 ' deep, is part of a lagoon leading to the Rocky River. The front portion of the dwelling, accessible by land, is three stories, with primary living spaces facing the river. The back portion is a two story boathouse, the roof of which is a terrace accessible from the third floor master suite. Materials of glass, steel and aluminum take on a maritime precision and are balanced and softened by teak and dolomitic limestone.
